Is this locomotive operational or just on display at tracks end?

Actually, Dave, the locomotive hasn't steamed since its days before being jammed into a shed in the San Luis Valley well before a lot of us were born. It's parked, near as I can figure on some standard gauge track at the roundhouse facing the parking lot. As far as it being the only surviving SG steam engine of the Rio Grande, it was once thought that *none* survived before they found her in the back of said shack. She needs TLC and that probably has something to do with the Roundhouse. The museum would be a lot better off sheltering most of its collection, but aside from the 5 or so stalls, the elements continue to lay claim to valuable historic artifacts every day. They need an indoor facility badly, but no one has $5-10 Mil sitting around waiting for something to do. I hope this changes soon, because it sure would save them a lot in the long run!
