If anything would classify railroad photography as an extreme sport, that sure would!
Seriously though, when property, lives, and payment, need to be kept track of, it is no wonder there will be plenty of paperwork: be it pulp paper or digital "paper"; I can't imagine what else could be done to create sufficient documentation.
