I would never have thought there were enough cars be repossessed to fill a unit train of auto-carriers. Especially now that the economy has supposedly improved.

Ha noo. A repo train is an empty train which takes these cars to a location to be filled...I.e. Long Beach, Ca or Houston, Tx.....Ports where trains can be filled, or domestic automotive plants for that matter.
