Wow - talk about a "Grey Ghost"! Glad nobody was seriously injured and everyone was transferred to the bus in a timely manner. I'd hate to be the shop person tasked with having to clean this train set though..it's going to need a thorough washing, I hope all the cement powder comes off with the wash water because when it dries and any is left on the train - it will become a bigger problem.

I love the conductor's wiper mark.

Wow! What an interesting photo! It would seem (?) that the grade crossing was where the personnel and bus are, thus indicating a slower speed based upon the stopping distance. I think that I would prefer to hit a truckload of powder than one of crushed rock aggregate-- anytime!!

I just have to chime in again - I clicked on the accompanying map and went to "satellite" view and "Zoomed" all the way in - and in the Google Earth photo from the satellite there appears to be a Dump Truck with a grey powdery substance in the back pulling a trailer with the same material crossing the tracks in the image from space...coincidence? There must be some industry in the area these trucks operate to - from as they must cross this line often.

Dana, there has been 2 long term construction projects going on in that area. They spent the last 2 years on an iron pellet plant and now a very large electrical substation is going In next door.
