I think that's actually an SD40; check the dynamic brake blister - SD40-2s have one that doesn't "taper" like that, the frame is shorter than an SD40-2 frame, and it doesn't have the "sight glass" in the doors back by the radiators like the "Dash 2s" have. I'm sure they classify it as an "SD40-2" today, since it probably got rebuilt with "Dash 2" electricals at some point, but it was delivered as an SD40, so it would be more accurate to call it an "ex-Conrail SD40 rebuilt to SD40-2 specs."

I don't pay attention to the specific details of locomotives, which is why I put it as a SD40-2.
