Besançon is a very historical city with fortifications of Vauban on top of the hill up the old city, Vauban was the master of military architecture of the 18th century with the most inventive fortress in term of military protection.

Emmanul: you're right, but this bridge wasn't built by Vauban. It supports the railway line Besançon-Le Locle, built in the 19th century.
