Mike - am always interested to see what photos you have to post each time, and you are able to pull off yet another spectacular photo. Love the description / background information about this train. My one question though is this: Any info. on just the make and model / year of the abandoned vehicle in the foreground? Just curious as it is painfully obvious to notice in this photo. I'm sure with the right mount of funds - it could be salvaged and restored. If I could I would do it - or attempt to do it.

I would say by the taillights it is a mid 50's Cadillac. Great shot Mike, the expanse of the desert and mountains never fail to interest me. The train makes it a little more intriguing. Interesting story of the log train.

Looks like a 1949 Cadillac Series 60 Special 4 door sedan. Worth recycling, not restoring.

No more traffic jams for me, nice out here but i sure do miss the smell of coffee those humans would drink so early in the morning.......an maybe a pink caddy next to me so we could reminisce. Nice story and bit of history Mike Cheers.
