Now they need units in actual heritage schemes, but this is a nice start.

In addition to number boards, it seems to also be missing its exhaust stack.

I'm sure I'm not the only person who isn't impressed by a sticker and a heritage moniker. CSX could do better, take a page from NS.

It's a start in the right direction...

People are gonna call these Heritage Units but in all reality its just putting a logo on the side of a Locomotive. I mean its nice and all but its the same as seeing the spirt locomotives. Thats just my .02 Cents.

Cheers to CSX for recognizing their beginnings, and I'll be happy to see these units roll through my town. However, this looks like a common angle of common power on the wrong side with the door open. How'd this get on?

Guess this shows how much CSX cares about it's heritage. Very unimpressive.

Give me a break...

Hopefully it will eventually be given a full coat of SCL heritage paint.
|
This is just lame. The only reason this is being done is to keep the trademark on the SCL logo. CSX doesn't care about honoring their predecessors or doing heritage units otherwise they would have painted the whole loco in the SCL scheme.

I have memories of the SCL Silver Comet which stopped early mornings at the Emory (GA) Station not far from CDC, so when my father who worked at CDC or some of his co-workers had business in Washington they would often ride that train. So I would like to see a heritage unit painted in livery of that era.

Sadly, this engine caught fire in south Pittsburgh today while leading a 102-car train between Cumberland and Chicago.
