The Greyhound Bus carried passengers to and from Norfolk and Virginia Beach to Newport News. The C&O was the route north out of the Hampton Roads Area. Amtrak still services Newport News and they have a contract shuttle bus that still runs from Norfolk and Virginia Beach every day to the Amtrak Station on Warwick Blvd.

That second car carries a most unusual and unidentifiable paint scheme. POSSIBLY repainted for some "special use ?"

Further research indicates that 2 C&O coaches were leased to the AAR for use in the "Golden Spike Centennial Ltd." that operated during the summer of 1969. When this duty was completed the cars were returned to C&O WITHOUT REPAINTING and remained in their special paint scheme until the start of Amtrak in 1971. These coaches were not selected by Amtrak and then went on to commuter service in the Pittsburgh, PA area and were later sold to Connecticut's "Shore Line East" commuter service. Please credit into to the Golden Spike Centennial Ltd website.
