Have a 1970 book titled America's Colorful Railroads, by the late Don Ball Jr, where on page 159 it shows KCS number 27, looks like an E8, on overpass at Hwy 71 in Grandview MO, where mounted just below and behind the numberboard each side, is a whip antenna; and then it has the PRR-like 'handrail' induction antenna on roof. The whip antennas, which look maybe 7 to 8feet long, are something I didn't expect to see on a locomotive. If I modeled KCS, I'd build that thing for sure just to get the comments that railroads didn't ever do that.

Oh, forgot to put in that what made the mental connection is that the E8 has an F unit trailing, though an F3 instead of an FP9 like here; and it is in the same livery.
