This looks more like downtown St Louis with construction of Interstate 64/40 going on

Meanwhile a publicly funded overpass is built in the background.

Sources online say 100A is an E8Am rebuilt from an Alton EA in 3/53. Believe 100 was an E7.

That's downtown St. Louis (12th St. yard), looking W/NW. Union Station is just to the right, out of frame. Future Hwy 40-64 overpass being built in the late '60's, completed in '71. Great photo!

Looks like an E8 and StL to me.

I am seriously INTRIGUED by that two-tone gray baggage car, which appears to have the right amount of lettering and proper logo placement to be one of the RARE Delaware & Hudson baggage cars that matched those of their primary ( for passengers anyway) connection, New York Central. If correct, this raises the question WHAT would a D&H baggage car be doing on a GM&O train in St Louis ? Admittedly, UP/SP's "Overland Route" used a similar paint scheme, but this car just doesn't look "right" for that paint scheme. Any ideas, guys ?

A number of D&H baggage cars were sold to GM&O.

Note how the E is lower than the F. Probably the effect of of 36" wheels on the E vs 40" on the F. Why EMD passenger units had smaller wheels than their freight units is something I've not fathomed.
