The HXN3 is also known as a JT56ACe and is a six-axle AC traction unit powered by an EMD-designed 16V265H four-cycle engine. Some 332 units were built from 2008. This is probably the largest rail application of the 265H engine and the Chinese experience surely fed in to the redesign of the 265H now marketed by Cat-EMD as the "1010J" engine.
