Because of weak management, the C&NW held on to steam longer than most. When Ben Heiniman the new chief executive came in, he was astonished at the age of the locomotives and how many were needed for the commuter service. He got rid of steam just as fast as possible and created a state of the art commuter rail system with bi levels and push pull consists. Still I am so glad you got this precious view of steam John. Thank you for your great record.
