NS has said that is isn't pleased with its train velocity on the "Penn Route" between NYC/Northern NJ and Chicago. That missing track on the bridge, and the missing track all the way to Port Reading Jct., and the other bits and pieces of single track on the route west of here are the choke points that need to be addressed. Single track, especially with long stretches between sidings, just doesn't cut it when you are trying to move things quickly. Need to get those speed limits back up to 70mph from the pedestrian 50mph they are today, too.
I presume this was either a drone shot or a helicopter or plane ride, eh?
