I can't say exactly what it is, but there is a certain "grittiness" to this image that I REALLY LIKE.

Sheboygan Falls has almost a New England feel to it. The river and all the historic old buildings almost make it a place time forgot. Traffic was never heavy on this line and was down to a couple trains a week at this point. Wig Wags were all over this line and much of the rail dated form the 1890's.
