It really is interesting. The sidewalk there is practically under the snowplow. You wonder how many bicycles got left on the sidewalk to be altered by a passing train?

I was told the homes rattled pretty good in the winter when the ground was frozen!

Close indeed! At the end of the ties the sidewalk begins. One day when I was the engineer on a southbound WC ore train, at this exact location and exactly in front of this house, a little girl was riding her tricycle northbound on the sidewalk. I leaned out the window of my engine to look down at her. As she went by my engine she reached out with her right hand and patted the journals of my locomotive as we passed by. I couldn't believe my eyes!
