In the late 70's I was lucky enough to get a ride in Morris County Central's Whitcome switcher that was used to pull the excursion train passed the steam loco so it could lead backwards back to Newfoundland Andy papa was in the cab and asked if I would like to ride with them up to the deli for a 'cup of Joe' I was told that was the highest point in Jersey but I never varified The Whit worked hard to get up it, those SD's must have sounded great!
