Sounds like a waste of money to me. The station is a real hazard and should probably be demolished

The Morouns, a rich Michigan business family, is planning on putting their headquarters in this building in the next few years. The windows you see have been put in in the past few years, and they've already fixed many of the holes, and elevator shafts, making the building far safer. While it's future isn't assured, the family seems intent on saving it.

The station was sold to Ford who is currently restoring the building. They will turn it into offices for their autonomous and electric vehicle divisions. They currently own several other buildings in the Corktown neighbourhood and plan on revitalizing the area, calling it their "Corktown Campus".

As a long time resident of Michigan and huge rail fan I was always saddened to see this station deteriorate the way it was. At the time of my previous post it's future was up in the air. But as the subsequent poster said, Ford now owns it and is going to use it. There was also a rumor about Ford allowing Amtrak to use the first floor for a new upgraded Amtrak station. There was also talk of creating a new M-1 line, the city's new Trolley system down Michigan avenue to serve the new Ford offices.
