Were the F45's able to trainline steam through to the passenger cars?
Was the steam generator car the sole source for the train?

The latter 20 F45's had steam heat pass through, 90mph gearing, & ATS. Still, thanks to Santa Fe's preferred steam injector a/c units on passenger cars, a steam generator bag was often needed to support the train.
