That station probably cost SEPTA trillions of dollars, lol - it's crazy the cost to build "compliant" stations today. But to your point, there was no desire to build a platform on the other side as it would require passengers crossing the 3rd track which is a liability to CSX. Same deal at other stations on the line, such as Woodbourne and Yardley.
