I believe the dome on this day was one of Burlington's original two home built domes, the Silver Dome or Silver Castle. Note the squared off appearance of the glass.

Thank you for the notes. I was fortunate to get to make a couple of trips from Chicago to Minneapolis when the GN station was still being used. I remember the first trip into the Midway station and how sad and bland it was. Nice to have St. Paul Union Depot in service again and looking great. Awesome photo here.
