I had an enjoyable train ride to Edinburgh from York(?) in 1982. Beautiful countryside and cities. I find myself studying this interesting photo. (I do hope the low water is caused by low tide time ??)

With Dad having been in Navy, though USN, and having gone to Scotland several times I remember him saying that far north tides had a greater change than further south in Virginia and South Carolina. Playing in Google found tide forecasts for Edinburgh for the next week and it shows they have a 5 meter, 16 foot, change in water level, from here, https://www.tide-forecast.com/locations/Edinburgh/tides/latest For this morning, October 11, low tide was 0.57 meters and high 4.67 meters.
