Wow! That is impressive Georg! PCA vote. Great fireworks show. Must have been a very memorable trip. Thanks for all the great steam images from China.

I've seen a video on YouTube showing this scenario. You would think the sparks would ignite the fully loaded coal cars in the consists they showed on YouTube. That has to be a beautiful, yet very unusual, scene to watch. If you care to check it out, I enclosed the link. Also note how red hot the ash pans are. I've never seen a steam locomotive fire that hot before:
