We can't get bridges on our highways to last 50-60 years these days. Bridges were built very well back then. I've lived in this area all my life. We have several RR bridges & viaducts dating back over 90-100 years that are still in use today. The black paint they applied back then lasts longer than bridges built today. Sad, but true.
