Nice series, Mitch. One wonders if this could become a future Amtrak transfer station if the new tunnels don't get built.

Wikipedia suggests such a project connecting the tracks between the "Main Line" on the lower level and the NEC on the upper level which would be part of "The Gateway Project" which would be know as the "Secaucus Loop" or "Bergen Loop". The projected construction date would be between 2024 and 2030.
