As a long distance truck driver, I have been down this road several times. Very beautiful scenery. This photo is off U.S. Highway 20 between Thermopolis, Wyoming and Shoshoni, Wyoming near the Lower Wind River Campground where I have parked for the night several times near the entrance. There are three tunnels almost next this area for U.S. Highway 20 and three tunnels on the BNSF across the river. I was told by the residents there that BNSF runs three to five trains a day through the canyon. The ones I seen were only going in the 20 to 30 MPH range. If you stay at the campground, you can see the trains entering and exiting the southern-most tunnel.

Very impressive, especially in nearly full screen! First shot I have seen here from a higher point of view. I paced some BN SD9s eastbound through the canyon long ago, and they were moving right along, making for a lively chase!
