A fantastic study of (what are quickly becoming endangered) US&S searchlights. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you, Chris, appreciate the kind words! I've always felt the searchlights on Cuesta never received as much attention as those still standing throughout California. Knowing that, I've made a considerable effort over the past few years to try and document each set from different angles. One day I know I'll pull up and their replacements will be standing nearby...but for now...Southern Pacific searchlights continue to rule the pass.

Wow very nice shot! What's the shutter speed on this one?
Posted by Alex Gillman on September 9, 2018
@atx railfan - Thank you! I did this one at an 8th of a second (1/8). Other settings were F 6.3 and ISO at 400.

Good to know. I really need to practice more light painting. Excellent shot once again!

Congats on both the SC and, now, PC! A signal alone sometimes needs a bit more "oomph" to impress in a photograph - you done good! @ ATX_Railfan - if you look at the bottom of the screen you'll note a link to the EXIF information from those, like Alex, kind enough to share with the community.
