This view is looking north. The train is heading south, away from L.A. Union Station and in the opposite direction form San Luis Obispo.

The Pacific Surfliner trains are run as "push pull" sets with a locomotive on one end and a cab car on the other end of the train. The locomotive in this photo is on the end of the train pushing the set toward Los Angeles.
