For the Clinchfield on the side of the tender, is that painted on, or on with a magnet? Can someone please explain to me how the name is put on then again taken off again. Inside the gondola car it appears to be a few can of paint. Am I correct in thinking the paint idea?

It was a huge strip of [what I'm assuming was] magnet. It was definitely not paint.

My guess is that is it a magnet strip and the "paint" cans you see are probably cans of spikes.

I think the tender lettering was a magnetic sign. The cab side numbers were taped on with black tape. The gondolas I think were part of the CSX MW gang's equipment; not sure what was in the cans.

Thank you, Gentlemen. I do like the idea of magnetic much better than paint. If Union Pacific were "lending" its Challenger over & over, painting the tender would be too much of a pain to get it right each time. It would also be too EXPENSIVE & prohibitively not worth the efforts. One purchase of the magnets would be perfect.
