CONRAIL under the radiators looks to be larger and in a different location on the demo unit too. Interesting, I didn't realize Conrail got any demos.

Another way to spot a "production" SD60 vs. the three demonstrator units was that there were two extra grab irons on the engineer's side of the short hood, making the three look like a ladder of sorts. You can't see it from this angle. Also note the SD60 demonstrator units were externally indistinguishable from Conrail's last order of SD50s, which were the first 6-axle EMDs Conrail ordered with the "HT-C" trucks as opposed to the older "Flexicoil" trucks specified on all Conrail SD40-2s and earlier orders of SD50s.
