Nice roster shot- thanks for sharing. I vaguely remember these rolling through downtown Washington Boro, pulling things like 40-foot wooden stock cars. Too bad none with "modified" cabs were saved. I am hoping that someday No. 4700 can be cosmetically restored and displayed alongside No. 4935 at Strasburg.

That would be nice to see 4700 in Pa. where it belongs. It is in sad shape, being neglected. But good luck getting the MOT in St. Louis to part with ANYTHING on a permanent basis. Remember the fiasco over the DL&W camelback??

That's a wild relic out in the wild. I can't say how many times I've been the St Louis Museum of Transportation and never even knew they had one of these. When I found it, I discovered why no pics seem to exist as it is buried pretty far back, coupled and squeezed between a locomotive to the right and the edge of a cut in the hill to the left. All under a canopy. Still - the Museum does seem to get to its equipment, slowly but surely. Those that visit will come to realize, it's not a museum of local equipment, practically the opposite. A diverse collection to be sure.

For me this was long ago, but not very far away.
