I don't understand why/how that signal is showing any kind of green aspect...

It is a red over green for diverging clear. At the bottom of the sag between signals there is a crossover.

Because there is a train approaching from behind the photographer, and will cross over to the other main. While this lens angle looks steep and rough it probably is one smooth ride. Although, everything in the pic is in perspective.

Peter: The green aspect on the lower head of the signal indicates a crossover movement - the xover being obscured by the grade. Thus, as the photographer explains, the route is set for eastbounds to crossover from the north to south main track here. "Wrong" main is an expression from the days of current of traffic signalling when given tracks were used in a specific direction.
