Nice photo. The last information I received from my uncle and cousin in Altoona was that the Altoona Railroader's Memorial Museum is looking into obtaining a new boiler for the 1361. Cross your fingers!

Jeff, since that information was also published in the Altoona Mirror a couple months ago, I can't cross my fingers on something that 100% is happening. I can't divulge finer details than that.

Tim, All the same....I hope she gets rebuilt. I know she has been rebuilt several times in her life....including boiler work. Many of her parts are not original to her as built condition: tender, pilot, number plate, headlight, piston valves, and drivers. I saw her drivers sitting in the Altoona Museum yard and saw a 5400 series numbered K4 scratched into one of her drivers. The historic PRR famed city of Altoona certainly deserves to have one of her famed steam locomotives in operating condition. Keep up the good photography work.
