And I used to get annoyed to seeing Conrail locomotives out West! I really like the Great Western livery - shares a heritage with Heber's 2-8-0 No. 75 locomotive. MEC and BM liveries are nice but as out of place there as Illinois Central liveries at the San Luis & Rio Grande!

So just exactly what are the unique heritage units doing at Heber?

Here is the heritage of the three GP9s at Heber. http://utahrails.net/utahrails/heber-equipment.php#diesel

Mitch- according to a "Trains" news article, they are standardizing their diesel fleet with GP9s, and the acquisition of these units will allow them to retire their former US Army MRS-1. There's discussion of repainting the Geeps as time allows.
