Love this shot with the power plant in the background! I'm planning on heading out there in the next week or two to catch this operation before it ends. In following the route on google maps, the dirt road pull offs on the section that parallels route 98 seem to be private roads. Are there any spots along route 98 that I can pull off and access without the risk of getting shot?

Hi Mark Do you have more information how the trains are running and when they shut down the power plant and therefore the rail services?

To answer the questions, most of the better shots are off of US-160. There are some angles off of AZ-98 on the north end, but we found it was better to just go right to Cow Springs to set up for the next shots when chasing south. We were advised before the trip by Navajo PD that going beyond the fences was trespassing on their land. As far as operations, on the 3 days we were out it appeared that trains were going on duty around 0700 and 1400, usually leaving about 30-45 minutes after. Note, I'm using Arizona time, but technically the railroad operates under Navajo time which is an hour later because AZ doesn't do daylight savings time. The railroad is supposed to shut down in August and September.
