Thank you for this photo Carl! this may very well be the last time anyone sees this equipment ever again! This is sad, pathetic, shameful and what a waste! I wish Genies were real and could grant wishes...I'd wish for the ability to save still useful and worthy railroad equipment from such an inglorious ending. I hope that all of this equipment can find a good, worthy, useful, and happy home! Appears very doubtful though!

No matter how "sad" or otherwise it may be to see lines / equipment or land gotten rid of, the bottom line is money. City / county / state or federal tax, fuel and maintenance costs as well as operations costs and loss of a profitable revenue mandate that old equipment / old plant structure be terminated. If ALL equipment / plant structures all the way back thru the steam era were "preserved, well it would be ridiculous. Unfortunately all things come to pass and because of that we have railroad museums.
