I think this E might have become Amtrak 202, but was off the roster after a couple years. Wrecked/retired??? Do not know if it was repainted.

About to get lost in the weeds. It is amazing how poorly tracks were maintained in the 1970's

You are right about generally shabby conditions of property back then, and there was sooo much redundant track around Montgomery Union Station that sat mostly unused for years before removal.
