Something of note here is the lack of corrosion showing. Looks like some business is taking care off this bridge. A PCA for me Vincent.

The Army Corps of Engineers is in charge of this bridge . . therefore, the good condition is a result of "your tax dollars at work."

Thinking more about this, having visited, passed under, and otherwise observed this bridge for many years now, I believe that the steel has been coated with some sort of protective coating ( rather like being galvanized) rather than painted. That dull grey finish always looks the same, and I have never seen any work being done that would resemble painting. It seems they spent the money to "do it right the first time."
