I wouldn't say it's a 'strange' catch; more like 'increasingly common' as UP tends to be on the point of everything these days!!! I like the birds in this shot!

This was a BNSF train out of Chrysler. This rrain almost always uses NS power because it comes off the NS. Seeing as the NS has a lot of UP power, it all makes sense.
