This view, and especially so in the new photos page thumbnail, brings to mind the snout of a hound dog. If my math is anywhere near right, 5 remaining out of 297 means that 1.7 percent have survived.

That is quite the ensemble of horns (5 total) of various size. Is that the stock horn assembly or a horn arrangement put together to acquire a particular sound?

I believe that is a standard Nathan M-5 air horn. These are not very common now, but they used to be pretty common, particularly on passenger power for some railroads.

There's an ex-D&RGW PB that was converted into a steam generator car, it survives in Canada.
