Yeah, as soon as CSX started renumbering everything we knew it was over. And that renumbering came on fast. I have very few shots where new and old numbers mixed. Still these were the most colorful days as far as CSX was concerned. Cool shot.

I miss Chessie. But I haven't geeked to the point of naming any of my cats Chessie. Remember back then trying to mix model paint to get the grey I was seeing on SBD units in Virginia; that hue of grey was a bit of a chameleon, seeming to change warm or cool tint depending on the environment. It did that both in real life and in magazine photos.
