Interesting note while on the subject of freight cars. That BAR reefer appears to be the ONLY car in the yard with SNOW on the roof, in October to boot. I have to wonder just HOW MUCH snow was piled there when it began its trip south.

Many of those were phase I H16-44 units. You can tell by the half moon windows, and the cooling fan radiator area not having the lower side grates that the phase II units had.
