Great photo! There was an article in Trains magazine about the time of the Rock's demise, a manager was quoted as saying "We are losing money on every carload but we will make it up in volume" Hard to argue with that logic.

The amazing Rock Island used this unit and other ancient Es in regular service long after others who had these Es did. Too bad so few of us realized how unique this was and the need to record it.
