During this era, and both sides of it, photos often show that streak of oil between the rails. Anyone know if that's evidence of a certain locomotive type, with a propensity to drip oil? Or perhaps all locos from a particular builder were responsible? For modelers, it's a nice signature for those bygone eras, but I've always wondered its source.
