Hmm, wonder what techniques there might be for modeling the flow streaks in the river? And are they in the water or on the river bottom? Or both?

I'm no river expert, so someone my correct me... but I've lived near, traveled down and watched the rivers and streams in this area my entire life. When he took that photo the river was particularly clear after a major flood 3 months earlier. My guess is it is the sediment on the river bed.
