What a excellent closeup of the snowplow type of frontend bumper that some SP and GN railroads used in the mtn passes. I have an old photo of a SP F unit exiting a snowshed in the Sierras and a GN set of covered wagons descending out of the cascades in Oregon in snowy conditions that look so rugged it still amazes me . The SP is Black Widow paint scheme witch was a great paint job and GN set of 4 F units relaxing as they coast down the side of the mountain holding the train in check. So cool an everytyme I come across that photo I am amazed as I was since I teenager. Love does pictures. Ruggedly speaking.
