Does anybody out there in Railfan-Land happen to know what company manufactures diesel engines for locomotives? What kind of of Miles Per Gallon do one of these get? How many gallons of diesel does a locomotive use in an hour? What is the normal fuel tank size for a locomotive like pictured above? I know there is a world of diiference, but my old 1977 Mack with the 237-HP diesel gets 7 MPG whether it is loaded or not including running bob-tail with two 120 gallon fuel tanks. Just curious.

I know the "War Bonnet" is probably gone forever, but I sure wish that at least the "Cigar Band" could make a comeback. I definitely appreciate BNSF producing the unit representing all the Fallen Flag building blocks, but at the same time, I still long for the scheme that made the Santa Fe instantly recognizable.
