Nick, The bridge was the northmost point on the Reading's North Penn Branch. The Reading's East Penn branch ended at East Penn Junction (CP Burn). The Reading had trackage rights between the two points, and some trains from Reading terminated in Allentown Yard. Allentown Yard was never a Reading property, but was owned by the CNJ, and later the LV, after the CNJ pulled out of PA in 1972. Nice catch, Nick! I was recently here and hoped to catch a train here after hearing its horn from the west but unfortunately, the train backed away seconds after arriving, no doubt switching cars at the nearby yard, vs continuing east. Appreciate the correction, Doug!
