Man, how the "station" area at Leaman Place has changed since those days. Wish I had gotten to see this engine run. That was probably our last chance to see an Atlantic that could actually run. They're all stuffed and mounted now. :o(

Kevin- I really miss the Coleman's ice cream stand at Paradise, which is now a granite countertop store. There aren't many surviving Atlantics in the US, for sure- 7002 and 460 in Strasburg, C&NW 1015 at St. Louis, DT&I 45 at The Henry Ford Museum, and SP 3025 at Travel Town in Los Angeles.

Nice shot, Bob! Arg - can't believe No. 7002 ran so late into the 1980's (yesterday, lol). A 2020 version of me then undoubtedly would've ventured out and seen her, and captured her on film! Miss the girder bridge - I DID see that. Wonder if it survived relocated?

Thanks Mitch. Good question whether the 1923-built Lincoln Highway bridge was preserved- a quick online search only revealed an extensive report on an archaeological dig that took place before it was replaced. At least the old Herman Haupt-designed iron bridge up the tracks at Ronks was preserved, and is now at the RR Museum of PA.
