I remember when I visited Steamtown in Walpole, NH as a kid in the mid-60s, this engine and CN 89 were hauling most of the passenger excursions to Chester, VT. The museum and roundhouse was in NH, and the boarding area for the excursions was just across the CT River in Bellows Falls, VT. Sad that this engine is stuffed and mounted today. CN 89 of course, continues to be active at the Strasburg Rail Road. I have often thought that Steamtown NHS, which seems to have limited resources, should focus on restoring a smaller engine like this, which could be economical for excursion service, instead of spending decades on monster engine projects that some of us will never live to see completed. Just my $.02. :o)
